About

Hi, I’m Haozhong Liu (Kayl, 刘皓中).

I am a junior undergraduate in Computer Engineering, pursuing a dual bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and Zhejiang University (ZJU), ZJUI Class of 2028.

My interests include Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human-Agent Collaboration, Multi-Agent Systems, and Visualization. I am particularly interested in how interactive systems can support understanding, design, and creative thinking. I am currently working in the VAI Lab in the State Key Lab of CAD&CG at ZJU, advised by Prof. Wei Chen. I am also open to collaborations and new research opportunities! I expect to graduate in Fall 2028 and plan to continue my research in the United States. Please feel free to reach out if you think there may be a good research fit!

I am from Qingdao, China. I enjoy traveling, poetry, and music.

Notes

Writing

I have a deep interest in modern poetry and have compiled a personal collection of poems, with some published. I also ran a poetry blog, One Night in March (“三月某晚”). To me, poetry expresses subtle emotions through metaphor and language.

I have been actively involved in editorial and media work. I currently serve as the head of the Writing Department at the Branding and Communications Center of the ZJU-UIUC Institute, and previously worked with the Student Union's Publicity and New Media Center, where I planned and wrote dozens of articles and media posts.

I also co-created a blog called Vision Film (“视界胶卷”), focused on photography and essays, which has been updated weekly for over 110 consecutive weeks.

I'm a member of the campus debate team. Also, I have kept a diary for nearly seven years. Writing for me is both a way of observing the world and of understanding myself.
